Anne Carlyle

Anne Carlyle is an award-winning interior designer with 40 years experience in the planning and design of health care, education and other public environments.

Known for her work in facilities for children, community organizations and those with special needs, Anne’s experience has included new construction and renovation projects for clients in Canada and the United States. Working often with complex client organizations and multi-disciplinary design teams, her role has varied from the facilitation of visioning workshops through programming, space planning and comprehensive interior design, to development of wayfinding and signage and site-specific art programs.

Anne founded Carlyle Design Associates in 1984. Over the years, Anne has enjoyed rewarding collaborations with many talented designers and the firm has had numerous successful project partnerings with architectural firms, some lasting 25 years. Anne believes passionately that design is a collaborative undertaking and that design solutions are enriched by shared thinking.

Anne graduated from the University of Toronto (BA) and from the Ontario College of Art and Design (Environmental Design). She is a Fellow of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario and long-time member of the Interior Designers of Canada. In 2006, Anne was elected to membership in the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. In 2009, she became a LEED Accredited Professional.

Erika Ferrarin is a registered interior designer with over 25 years of professional experience providing full scope design services to public and corporate clients, including healthcare facilities. Her extensive experience has made her a versatile technical and detail-oriented designer with unique creativity. She is dedicated to working with clients to ensure that their space effectively reflects their needs and their vision.

At the core of Erika’s design focus are price point, sustainability and the user experience and well-being – a people-first approach.

Erika’s work includes functional programing, space needs analysis and planning, design concepts including materials/ finishes/ lighting selection, contract documents and project management. Erika has provided services for: the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Rogers House, Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ottawa Police Service, Canada Border Services Agency, Children's Aid Society, HRDC (currently ESD), Nunavut Trust, Sakto Property Management, Conval-Aid, Prescience Management, Trillium Dental and Sinclair Dental amongst others.

As a strategic partner of Carlyle Design Associates, Erika brings her unique energy and mature expertise to the firm’s projects – work has included design for a large long term care facility, a foreign embassy and space planning and renovations for community health and resource centres in Ottawa.

Erika graduated from Algonquin College, Interior Design with Honours. She is a professional member of the Association of Registered interior Designers of Ontario, the Interior Designers of Canada and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
